Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and has experienced an explosion of growth within the past few years. It is undoubtedly a city on the move. Many people move to Charlotte from other cities because of the abundance of jobs and because it has been dubbed a big city with a small town feel. However, as with most cities if you want to conveniences of a big city but can do without the noise, traffic and congestion that comes along with it most newcomers and even long-term residents consider neighborhoods just outside of the city limits. Matthews is located east of Charlotte and is only fifteen minutes away from downtown or center city.

Although Matthews is a smaller town in comparison with a population of about 28,000 it still has quite a few amenities that do not require residents to leave the city limits. Shopping, restaurants and entertainment are all located within this small town. In addition, with its quiet tree lined streets, small town feel and great school districts it is a great place to raise children.
